Standards and Compliance Basis

Export waterworks valves are typically accepted against API 6D, API 607 or ISO 9001, while the EU market additionally requires conformity with the scope of PED 2014/68/EU. These are the reference names buyers check during the approval stage; certificates are subject to the originals supplied by the customer.

API 6D
Design, manufacture and inspection basis for pipeline gate, ball, plug and rising stem valves, covering pressure testing, body tests and marking requirements; commonly used as the acceptance reference for resilient seated gate valves.
API 607
Manufacturing standard for pipeline gate valves, specifying body, bonnet and disc materials and heat treatment, structural dimensions and inspection items; often cited alongside API 6D as a two-standard combination.
ISO 9001
Quality management system requirements. Export orders frequently call for the system certificate and batch inspection records to confirm traceability.
PED 2014/68/EU
EU Pressure Equipment Directive, with scope defined by fluid category and nominal pressure; applies to the compliance statement for PN16 resilient seated gate valves exported to the EU.
PN16 / Class 150
Pressure class designations themselves. PN16 resilient seated gate valves and API 6D Class 150 gate valves are not fully interchangeable in face-to-face length, flange drilling and fasteners, so confirm the mating piping system before ordering.
Material and end connection marking (ductile iron / F316 / RF, RTJ)
Where the body is ductile iron or F316 stainless steel, state on the technical confirmation sheet whether the flange face is RF or RTJ, otherwise parts may not match at assembly.
Fire-safe, anti-static and non-metallic parts
Municipal waterworks projects often require seal material certification and optional fire-safe or anti-static design statements for response to fire and explosion hazard tender documents.
Batch inspection and export documents
Material certificates, pressure test records, packing lists and certificates of origin are supplied with the goods for customs clearance and receipt inspection.

Common market-entry requirements; applicability and documentation are subject to the destination country's current regulations and mutual confirmation.
